Mountain Retreat

We're headed up to the mountains ya'll!!! And while this might not sound like big news, it's really exciting for us because we're planning to demo songs for our next album while we're up there.

We've got an awesome shack to stay in (courtesy of the fine Howell family) on a nice chunk of bushland. It's going to be a serene week of intense male bonding.

So in-between face licking sessions we will hopefully get enough jamming done to record some decent material for our next release. We're set to head up mid March, so finger crossed we come home with something to show after a solid week of mountain shenanigans.

We'll keep ya'll in the loop as to if we survived, but in the meantime have a good fucking week.

Hey ya'll.

Happy new year ya druggo's!!

As lame as it sounds, I'm gonna take this opportunity to quickly reflect on the events towards the end of last year and look forward to what 2014 holds in it's powerful, trembling hands.

I suppose the most notable and exciting thing to happen in the back end of the year was that we (finally) released our album, Pools. It was a long time coming and we're all super chuffed to have it out there and to be floggin it at our shows. We did album launch shows in Sydney and Melbs, which were both really great, so thanks to all ya'll that came out to support us. Big ups to Narrow Lands and No Art, who played with us in Sydney, and to Heads of Charm, ESC, and Strangers From Now On who played with us in Melbs. They're all bloody great bands and we were blown away at both shows by how much better they all were than us. Quality shit ladies and gents.

So 2013 was a damn fine year for us, full of good times and belly laughs. And 2014 is set to be no different... For starters we're getting the year off on the right foot with a couple of awesome festivals. The first being Fish Fest put on by our buddies Spewborg and Frizz, which is set to destroy the Northern Beaches on the 18th of Jan. So get yourself a ticket and come get fishy with us!

The other festival is of course Bad Day Out, put on by Morgs and Sam at the Petersham Bowlo on Australia Day. This is set to be a bloody doozey of a day, with a fair dinkum grouse line-up of Aussie bands. It's probably the most Australian thing you can do without being even remotely patriotic... with no bare chested, southern cross tattooed, Australian flag toting douche bags in sight. So get yourself a god damn ticket and sink some piss with us at the Petersham Bowlo on fucking Australia Day. Check the links below ya'll...

We're also planning to start demoing for our next album soon, so 2014 will hopefully give birth to a new Zeahorse record. But while we slowly push that snarling beast our of 2014's supple vagina, we're also planning to do some touring (with some potential overseas touring too). So we'll keep you in the loop as to all those goings on throughout the year. And that's enough from me, so I hope to see you soon and have a great fucking year!

We've been pretty busy recently and have just come back from our trip to Brisbane for Bigsound. While overall it was a fun trip, unfortunately we suffered from the anal penetrating Bigsound curse - which basically means we played like shit all week... You'd think by now we'd know how to tune our guitars, but unfortunately no... we don't. So by playing wildly out of tune, with amps blowing up, and sound dropping out, I'm guessing no one was overly impressed by us at Bigsound. But on the bright side, the curse was lifted for our final show of the week with our buddies No Anchor - probably because this show had nothing to do with Bigsound... But at last we got our shit together and ended the trip on a high note.

As for up coming shows, we got a run of dates with Wolf & Cub for their 'Heavy Weight' album tour in October. We're really pumped for these shows and are really excited about playing in two cities we've never played before, Hobart and Adelaide. Tales From The Last Few Months

It’s been a loooooong time since we’ve done a post and since it’s been a great few months with a bunch of awesome shows and some generally cool stuff happening, we thought it was about damn time.

In March we played with The Mark Of Cain and Blacklevel Embassy at the Metro. It’d been a while since we’d played in a big venue like that, so it was awesome to be able to pump our amps and brutalize everyone without feeling like assholes. Plus the Mark Of Cain are old school veterans so it was sweet to play with those guys.

Then in May were we back at the Metro but this time with Jello Biafra!!! Twas quite the honour. And to make it even more amazing, the Hard-Ons were on the bill too!!! Damn, what a gig – a proper punk rock show and probably the most entertaining show I’ve seen… ever! Just picture your Dad crowd surfing (it was a pretty old crowd), getting up on stage and dancing around like a turkey before swiftly being pushed back into the crowd by a large bald-headed man and disappearing into a black hole of people below (taking out a few punters on the way) cause no one really caught them... that's what it was like, over and over again. Hilarious.

We also recently scored a couple of gigs with the Black Angels in Brisbane and Sydney, which was a really cool experience too. It was also with our pals the Laurels, so it was good times all round.

We’ve also been working on a video for our song 'Pool', which will be on our new album, with our friend Jack Shanahan. I won’t give too much away cause it’ll be out soon, but let’s just say it involves a coffin and a not so dead guy. A special mention has to go to our pal Drew for his hard work behind the scenes for this video (and also for all the gear he always lends us). One of the greatest dudes of all time.

In other news, HUB (the label) has recently jumped on board to help us release our album, which has been really great and exciting for us. It’s been awesome working with them; they’ve been a really good driving force and it’s going to make a big difference come album release time - so a special thanks goes out to Troy and Jaclyn.

Speaking of the album release, it’s now looking like late September, early October. We know it’s been a long time coming, but hopefully it’ll be worth the wait. We’ll being doing a tour around then too, so get excited!!!!

Gig Tomorrow! PLUS we've finished the new album!!

Hey everyone!

So our new album is finally finished!!!!!! We recently finished  mixing and mastering and it's sounding great, we're really happy with it. It still wont be ready for release until early next year, we're hoping around February 2013, but the good news is that we're gonna cut it to vinyl - so it'll be worth the wait! I've posted a few photos from the recording so you can get a feel for where the album was made - what a beautiful place to make a record. It was recorded in Whitey's house (mainly in the lounge room) by Steve Law on the magical North Coast (the Channon area).

In the meantime we've got a song off the record, Tugboat, on FBI radio which is getting played every now and then, so keep an ear out for that one (it's also on bandcamp - check it out). We'll have another one out on radio and online soon.

And we've got a gig TOMORROW NIGHT (Nov 17th) at the Gaelic Club!! So come along if you can - yes i'm leaving, corpus and bad jeep are also playing so it's gonna be an awesome night of sweet Sydney music. We're also gonna have some zeahorse t-shirts for sale (check the picture).

Hi Everybody! 

Sydney band, DRILL was a four piece that formed in 1992. 

They have an experimental mixture of sounds but are intense and 

abrasive to say the least!! 

 After 6 months of playing in and around Sydney, they toured Melbourne 

on the back of a Zen Studios compilation "The Gospel According to St 

Peters". 

 It wasn't long before they started making a name for themselves with 

their heavily distorted sounds and theatrics. 

 In 1993 they released a limited edition 7" titled "Ballman" which quickly 

sold out. 

 In 1995 they released the E.P "Spin Dry the Adjudicator", making it to 

number 5 in the Red Eye Charts. They heavily toured for the E.P and 

featured at Sydney’s Metro for a Eddie Magazine Launch.

In 2012 Drill has reformed and will penetrate the tinnitus of 

unsuspecting punters.
